2006 HERO Back to School Supply Drive

Congratulations to all on the success of another year for the Annual HERO Backpack Campaign. We collected 278 complete sets of backpacks and 2 dozen large boxes of extra supplies. The Brevard County School Foundation picked the majority of them up this morning and will be distributing them to the appropriate students at the public schools. 40 of them went to "Operation Hope" and we still have about 38 of them to hand out to the private schools of which those schools will be notified today.

To the HERO's that helped locate a room to store them in, the coordinators that took on the responsibility of collecting and delivering to 101 and those that came to help load them on the truck to the School Board, you are to be commended for going above and beyond the call of duty for the good of all needy students in our schools. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

To the Harris employees that made a contribution, many thanks. A student in need of basic supplies to start the new school year is so important to their self-esteem and gives them the proper tools to accomplish their daily tasks. Our schools let us know when a full backpack brings a smile and a change in stature to a student.

We want to thank everyone for a job very well done!
